Golf, Glitz and Generous Giving

The event raises money for a number of causes, one of which is Macquarie University Motor Neuron Disease (MND) Centre led by Professor Dom Rowe. The MND Centre received over $60K from the fundraising effort at this event alone. MonSTaR charity is a loyal supporter of the centre, inspired by the personal mission of co-founder Hamish Pearce to give back to those who offered him support during his late wife’s journey with MND.

Over 100 guests participated in the golf day, and it was lovely to see the community gathered and collaborating toward a shared goal. The cocktail night was attended by over 300 guests, and patron Peter Overton was master of ceremonies during the night. It was a wonderful evening featuring raffles, auctions of live artworks and dancing the night away to the live band. A highlight of the evening was the touching interview by Prof Dom Rowe with one of his MND patients, a member of the Pennant Hills golf course where the event was held. Sharing his story with his own community was a powerful means of giving insight into MND and inspiring the room.

Congratulations to the MonSTaR Foundation on another successful fundraising day. The annual event is scheduled to be held on Friday 22nd March 2024.
