Hear from Daniel Pace, co-founder of Invicta Prospects Group, about his time in the Australian Defence Force as a Clearance Diver.

What attracted you to become a Clearance Diver (CD)?


I joined the Navy when I was 17 years old as an Electronics Technician posted to HMAS Gascoyne, a Minehunter Coastal Ship which had a small team of CD's on-board. It was during this time and the mateship formed that I became solely focused on becoming a CD. It was not an easy road however I finally became a CD at 24.

What did you love most about your time as a CD?


The camaraderie developed over years of challenging yet rewarding work. There is a deep bond between CD's having shared a common hardship

What is your fondest memory about being a CD?


It’s hard to pinpoint a single memory, however, it would be my last day in uniform. This was a very emotional time as becoming a CD was my greatest individual achievement.

Where has your career taken you since discharge?


Since discharge from the Australian Defence Force, I’ve had the pleasure of working with fellow ex-CD Shane Acorn as co-founders and directors of tech start-up Invicta Prospects Group (IPG).

IPG has developed Operational Intelligence Software applications, called Buddy Suite Analytics, that manage workforce capability by efficiently capturing and mobilising data on practical activities using an array of inputs to streamline planning, compliance and automating risk assessments.
