Congratulations to our Australia Day Honours recipients
FEATURES
Once again Macquarie alumni have shone in the Australia Day Honours list, with 13 alumni recognised this year.
- Richard Ackland AM (BLegalStudies,1986) was made a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to the print and television media, through reporting on legal issues, and as a publisher.
- Dr Stephen Giugni OAM (PhD, 1991) received the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to the communications industry through research and to volleyball.
- Mark Greenhill OAM (MA, 1994), BLegalStudies (1994)) received the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to local government, and to the community of the Blue Mountains.
- Dr Ronald Holt OAM (PhD, 1979) was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to tertiary education, particularly in foreign languages.
- Kim Jacobs AM (MBA, 1983) was made a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to business, to Australia-Israel relations, to higher education & the community.
- David Liddy AM (MBA, 1992) was made a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to the banking and finance sectors through a range of executive roles & to the community of QLD.
- Dr Warren Marks OAM (PhD, 2013, BA,1971, BA(Hons), 1973) received the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to education.
- Rosemary Milkins PSM (BA/DipEd, 1976, MA, 1984) was awarded the Public Service Medal for outstanding public service through corporate governance and leading contributions to organisational reform in NSW.
- Philip Moss AM (LLB, 2002) was made a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to public administration of law enforcement integrity, anti-corruption & human rights.
- Dr Mary O’Kane AC DSc (HonorisCausa, 2009) was made a Companion of the Order of Australia for eminent service to science and engineering, to national policy development and the promotion of technology.
- Monica Saville OAM (MA, 1986) received the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to the community, particularly through Rotary.
- Peter Ward OAM (MAF, 1997) received the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to cross country skiing.
- Dr Paul Whiting OAM (PhD, 1984) received the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to the community through choral music.
