Dr Oliver has a long association with Macquarie, having completed his undergraduate, masters and PhD here in the 1970s and 1980s. Now Head of Investment Strategy and Chief Economist for AMP Capital Investors, Dr Oliver gave an insight to the beginnings of his leadership journey, and how his experience helps him to navigate uncertainty in a rapidly changing world.

The conversation-style event was led by Professor Eric Knight, Executive Dean of Macquarie Business School, and was attended by more than 70 students from our Young Leaders program as well as more than 240 MBA students, staff and alumni virtual attendees via live Zoom link.

The first in the Distinguished Speaker Series, this event aimed to inspire students and alumni alike and provide attendees with thought-provoking content and actionable steps to support their career journey. The Young Leaders Program (YLP), a unique opportunity the Business School offers its high-achieving undergraduate students to develop their leadership skills and will see a series of five masterclass-style events delivered over the course of 2021.
