Professor Jana Bowden, Department of Marketing, was featured on ABC Online and YourLifeChoices and commented on the consumer’s role, especially during the festive season, in forcing retailers to adopt more sustainable products and practices.

Professor Eric Knight, Executive Dean of the Macquarie Business School, provided comment to The Australian (online and print versions) on a new report, conducted by Mandala and commissioned by MQBS, that compares the proportion of business degree graduates who succeed in getting jobs with top employers. The results reveal that 13 per cent of MQBS masters graduates and 12 per cent of the school’s bachelor graduates are hired by a top-tier employer within six months of graduating, and this reflected as a total number places MQBS second for undergraduate and third for postgraduate among the country’s top business schools. Professor Knight said the Mandala graduate employability figures show Macquarie Business School performing better compared with other universities than in traditional rankings, and this demonstrates that more appropriate benchmarks, such as employability outcomes, are needed to measure success.
