Professor Hanlin Shang, Department of Actuarial Studies and Business Analytics and the DataX Research Centre, was featured in The Australian (online and print), The Daily Telegraph, The Courier Mail, Aged Care Guide, YourLifeChoices, ABC Radio, Nine News, 7 News and more, regarding the optimal pension age in Australia. Professor Alison Pullen, Department of Management, co-contributed an article to The Conversation that provided an analysis of the Australian Football League’s new CEO appointment. Pullen was also featured on 107.9 Move FM.

Professor Henry Cutler, Director of the Macquarie University Centre for the Health Economy, contributed an article to The Conversation that offered an analysis of the government’s policy changes regarding pharmacy scripts. This also appeared in Mirage News.

Professor Eric Knight, Executive Dean of Macquarie Business School, contributed an article to The Hindu about why Management students should study Organisational Theory.

Dr Lurion De Mello, Department of Applied Finance, was featured in The Sydney Morning Herald and discussed China’s push to challenge the US dollar. De Mello said the move makes sense for China’s heavy trading partners.

Professors Jeffrey Sheen and Geoff Kingston, Department of Economics, were included in Finder’s RBA survey and offered their opinion on future cash rate moves and other issues relating to the state of the economy. Other surveys included Finder’s – 2 May.

Professor Debbie Haski-Leventhal, Department of Management, was featured in עיתון הארץ and discussed her book, ‘Make it Meaningful: How to Find Purpose in Life and Work’. Haski-Leventhal’s book was also discussed on Haaretz.comand The Australian Jewish News.

Emeritus Professor James Guthrie, Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance, was featured in The Guardian and discussed consultancy firms in the public sector. This was also covered by 702 ABC Sydney.

Dr Jun Yao, Department of Marketing, was featured on Channel NewsAsia (CNA) and discussed ‘shrinkflation’, a strategy which involves reducing the size of a product while retaining the same price.

Professor Jana Bowden, Department of Marketing, was featured in AdNews regarding her top marketing myths, a topic Bowden discussed at Think TV’s Re Vision conference. Additional coverage of the conference included Media Week and AdNews (event photos).

Professor Nick Parr, Department of Management, was featured in The Sun-Herald (print version) and offered insights into some of the reasons behind why more Sydney women are delaying having children.

Professor Henry Cutler, Director of the Macquarie University Centre for the Health Economy, released the annual MUCHE health report, the Centre’s analysis of the 2023 Federal Budget. This was covered by Inside Ageing.

Professor Elizabeth Sheedy, Department of Applied Finance, was featured on ABC NewsRadio and discussed the new regulations applied to 'Buy now, pay later' providers. Sheedy said it is a welcome development.

Professor Jana Bowden, Department of Marketing, was featured on Inside Retail and explained what the proposed 'Buy now, pay later' regulations mean for Australian retail.

Associate Professor Meena Chavan, Department of Management, was featured on ABC 24 and discussed strong opportunities for Australian businesses in the Indian market.

Professor Henry Cutler, Director of the Macquarie University Centre for the Health Economy, was featured on ABC Online and ABC Radio National Breakfast and discussed the PBS listing of prostate cancer drug Erlyand. Cutler said it comes down to a cost benefit analysis.

Dr Raymond Trau, Department of Management, was featured in The Sydney Morning Herald and discussed the question of whether employers have the right to advise employees against speaking a language other than English in the workplace.

Dr Lurion De Mello, Department of Applied Finance, contributed an article to The Conversation that outlined the challenges with shopping around for a better electricity deal. He says better regulation is needed to ensure the average person can shop for the best deal. This was also covered by ABC South East SA.

Professor Jana Bowden, Department of Marketing, was featured on Inside Retail and explained why the data suggesting that the luxury sector is immune to the cost-of-living crisis "isn’t cut and dry".

Professor Rahat Munir, Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance, was featured in Acuity and discussed immigration to address the skills shortage in Australia. Munir says the current Australian Government estimate of a need for 300,000 immigrants this year to address the skills shortage falls short, and the continuing arrival of immigrants is critically important to the Australian economy.
