Congratulations to three of our MBA graduates for their selection and participation in the 2021 MBA World Summit earlier this year. Alejandro Ortiz, Himanshu Kolhekar and Niharika Singh were selected as three of only 100 participants globally, chosen from more than 2500 applicants. All three were also selected to present to the global audience.

Billed as the pinnacle international gathering for the global MBA community, the Summit is an annual event that has been an in-person conference in previous years, but was postponed in 2020 and brought online for 2021. Business schools from around the world were invited to submit proposals for inclusion, as well as apply to participate in the summit itself.

Alejandro, who completed his MBA at MQBS in October 2020, was also one of just 23 participants to present to the group as part of the event. “My presentation was titled Discovering your-SELF to Become a Great Manager,” said Alejandro. “Content was supported by some of the learnings from Organisational Behaviour subjects as part of my MBA and my academic background in Neuro Linguistic Programming. I presented a model that allows us to improve self-awareness in order to reach our highest potential as managers.”

Alejandro, who runs his own consulting company that provides life coaching, career counselling and organisational advice services, undertook an MBA to progress his career and better manage his own company.

Himanshu also completed his MBA last year and described his experience as amazing. “The best and most inspiring MBA students from the world's best universities were present to share their experience and learn as a collective.”

Himanshu presented to the elite group on the topic of Roadmap to become an Intrapreneur. “Business schools around the world have focused on ‘entrepreneurship’ but they have never focused on ‘intrapreneurship’ and that's where they felt I was filling the gap,” said Himanshu.

“The Summit found my presentation an eyeopener, they felt optimistic and confident on how they will use my framework to kick start their Intrapreneurship journey.”

Macquarie Business School was the only institution globally to have not only three participants, but three presenters at this global summit of MBA professionals.
