The works listed in this section relate to publications dealing with the early history of colonial Australia. For more specific listings relating to Lachlan and Elizabeth Macquarie and their activities in the period 1810-1822 consult the works described in the sections: New South Wales and Van Diemen's Land. There will necessarily be a certain degree of overlap in the treatment (and relevance) of these two linked colonies during the governorship of Lachlan Macquarie.
