Tuesdy. 1st. May! —
Col: Paterson late Lt. Govr. of the Colony embarked on board the Dromedary under a Salute of 13 Guns from the Battery. —

Thursdy. 3d. May —
The Mercury Colonial Schooner arrived this Day from Otaheite laden with Salt Pork. —

Tuesday 8th. May! —
Lt. Col: OConnell was this morning at 10,O'Clock married at Government House to Mrs. Putland, Widow of the late Lt. Putland of the R. Navy and Daughter of Govr. Bligh. —

Fridy. 11th. May —
Commodore Bligh Breakfasted with us this morning previous to his final Embarkation on bd. the Hindostan – which took place between 11 & 12 OClock this day; the Hindostan, Dromedary & Porpoise having dropped down to the Heads some days before to be ready to sail at a moments notice. — I sent my Dispatches to Capt. Pasco by Capt. C. [?]

Saty. 12th. May —
The Ships Hindostan, Dromedary & Porpoise Sailed today between 1 and 2, O'Clock out from the Heads, & put to Sea with a remarkable fine fair Wind. — Mrs. M. & myself went in the Carriage between 12 & 1 O'Clock down to the Heads to see the Ships go out – and staid there till 3,O'Clock – a fine Sight! —

Tuesday 15th. May 1810 —
I went this day to visit the Government Saw Pits at Lane Cove, accompanied by Mrs. M. and Gentlemen of my Family. — The entrance of Lane Cove is about 3 miles from Sydney, and the Saw Pits are about six miles higher up. — The Timber there getting scarce, the Saw Pits must soon be removed to another place, where Timber is more abundant. — The Stringy Bark and Blue Gum Trees are the best and fittest for Buildings & Flooring. —

Sunday 20th. May! —
I had all the Government Working Gangs of Convicts, consisting of 346 Men, Paraded at 10,O'Clock this morning and marched to Church, under their respective Overseers, and Chief Superintendant Mr. Nicholls. — I attended myself with my Staff to Inspect them previous to their being marched to Church, and they really made a very decent respectable appearance. — Their conduct in Church was also decent, attentive, and devout.
