Saturday! — A Cruizer was this day dispatched with the after-Packet for the Indiamen now on the Coast of Malabar, and from which they are expected to take their final departure for England about the middle of this month, under Convoy of the Tremendous 74. —

I wrote a great number of Letters by this opportunity to Friends at Home.

Thursday! — I wrote Letters of this date to go by the Overland Dispatch, to the Earl of Harrington, Mr. Greenwood, and Sir Jno. I also wrote of this date to my beloved Elizabeth to inform her of my plans and of my Engagement with Govr. Duncan, expressing my earnest hope that she will approve thereof. —
