16 December 1809 On the 16th.. at eight o'clock in the morning we saw Cape Pillar at about five miles distance. The Cape is form'd exactly like a part of Gribun [?] in the Isle of Mull opposite to Oskamull. I do not know of any place the resemblance to which would be so gratifying to me. [S]ome of the happiest days of my life being spent at Mrs.. Macquaries house at Oskamull.
