Lachlan Macquarie sailed from Bombay
through the PERSIAN GULF to IRAQ.
After reaching Baghdad, he and his companions
travelled overland through IRAN and RUSSIA,
and finally sailed home to ENGLAND
via DENMARK and SWEDEN.
