Memorandum of understanding
An agreement which formalises the terms of a relationship, arrangement or understanding between the University and another party. It is not intended to be legally binding on either party.

Mentors
Second year (or higher) students who attend orientation days to answer questions, lead campus tours and support students in their transition to university studies.

Minor
Astructured group of units, which is approved by the University. All minors mustcontain at least six credit points of study at 200 level or above.

Misconduct
Misconduct occurs when a student does not follow the by-laws, rules or policies set down by the University. Punishment for misconduct or breach of discipline may include suspension from classes, payment of fines, or exclusion from the University.

Mode of offering
The mode of offering for a unit indicates whether it is a day, evening, or distance education (external) unit.

Moderation
A quality review and assurance process. It involves using qualified staff to confirm that curriculum materials and activities (including assessment, examination and marking) are valid and reliable.
