Moyal Medal 2021

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the Moyal Medal Committee celebrated the 2021 Moyal Medal with recipient Professor Louise Ryan on Monday, 6 December 2021.

The Moyal Medal, named after the late Professor Jose Enrique Moyal is given annually for research contributions to mathematics, physics or statistics. For Louise, it is for her decades of blending statistical methods research with applications in the real world, particularly in the health and environmental domains.

We celebrated Lousie with a hybrid event where she presented her lecture on 'How statistical modelling and machine learning can offer insights about the sustainability of our precious water resources', and celebrated her achievements with an overdue catch up with old colleagues. Congratulation Louise we were honoured to have you as this year Moyal Medal recipient.
