ARC Future Fellowship
Congratulations to Simon Gross from the MQ Photonics Centre, who has been awarded $789,542 in funding in the latest ARC Future Fellowship round.
Simon, who will join the School as an ongoing member of staff in 2021, is working on the next generation of fibre optics, to help create new, better optical fibre systems that can overcome the inherent limits that the massive increase in internet use has exposed. His research involves working on ways of enabling the vast amounts of data travelling through our land and undersea cabling. This project stands to generate new knowledge in photonics, optical communication and advanced manufacturing.
