Tahereh Moadeli

Tahereh's MRes and PhD work focused on the development of larval diets for mass rearing of tephritid fruit flies. Larval diets that can produce large numbers of high-quality flies at minimal expense, are a key requirement of sterile insect technique programs. Tahereh developed gel diets that have greatly improved the quality of mass-reared fruit flies used in SIT programs, greatly improving program efficacy and cost-effectiveness.
