Humayra’s PhD explored the potential value of raspberry ketone (RK) as a pre-release dietary supplement for fruit fly sterile insect technique programs, finding significant acceleration of maturation and improved sexual performance. Humayra also investigated effects of RK supplements on male ability to induce sexual inhibition in mates, reproductive organ development, pheromone composition, lure response and tolerance of desiccation and starvation.
