TASK program
TASK was developed by a team of physiotherapists at Macquarie University, led by Dr Kate Scrivener. It was designed to improve and/or maintain strength and mobility, as well as encourage people after stroke to be more physically active and to exercise at home, on an ongoing basis.
This post-stroke exercise program is guided by videos, and involves the practice of four everyday tasks:
- sitting
- standing
- stepping
- standing up.
Lower back pain management booklet
Using previous research and feedback from practitioners and patients, the booklet was developed by Dr Hazel Jenkins and a team of researchers at Macquarie University, with collaborators from:
- Queens University, Canada
- Sydney University.
This booklet was created as a clinical resource for health care practitioners treating low back pain. It can be used during a consultation and given to the patient to take home.
Designed to be time-efficient and complement a standard consultation, the booklet has been specifically developed to be used with patients with acute, uncomplicated low back pain and no signs or symptoms of serious pathology (eg cancer or infection).
