Certificate of Attainment in Greek
Examinations for all levels of the Certificate of Attainment in Greek (language) are held once a year on Macquarie University's Wallumattagal campus in North Ryde.
The Certificate of Attainment in Greek is the only official state certification. It confirms the knowledge of Greek as a foreign/second language at six levels, corresponding to the levels of the Common European Framework. The certification is recognised by:
- all member states of the European Union
- NESA (New South Wales Education Standards Authority).
Details
Macquarie University is a certified examination centre (61006) by the Centre for Greek Language in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Note: Candidates who have turned eight years old by 31 May of each examination year have the right to participate in the exams. There are no other age restrictions. Candidates under the age of 16 should not be encouraged to take the B2, C1 and C2 level exams as the content of the exams requires knowledge and experience that young candidates do not have.
Written sections take place on weekdays and the oral exams take place on the same day or after the written section.

To register for an examination, follow the steps outlined below:
- Check the language levels and exam dates.
- Pay online the exam registration fee equivalent to the candidate's exam language level.
- Complete the online candidate application form, ensuring the name you enter matches the identity documents of the candidate.
Once you complete your registration, you will be sent updates on the status of your application. Any examination changes will be communicated to you via email.
