Our Sociology research
The Macquarie School of Social Sciences’ Sociology discipline brings together social theory and social research methods to understand how society works, and how it can be changed for the better.
We work on a range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary projects, collaborating with scholars, policy makers and service providers both locally and globally.
Our research includes consultancies and ARC funded projects, and focuses particularly on:
- gender, generations and the intimate sphere
- markets, policy and inequality
- migration, mobilities and diversities
- social movement and citizenship
- the sociology of culture and everyday life
- urban and global sociology
- work and society.
