Welcome to the Macquarie University Teachers' Learning Hub.
Our mission is to support and enhance teaching and education across Australia through a commitment to equity, accessibility, and high-quality professional learning microcredentials.
The hub enables teachers, educators and school leaders to learn directly from top experts in their fields here at the Macquarie School of Education, a recognised NESA PD provider.
Our courses
These microcredential courses are:
- evidence-based and relevant to both the curriculum and challenges faced by teachers/educators today
- digitally certified and are designed to help teachers identify and fulfill their professional learning requirements as set by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA)
- either 10-hours or 25-hours in duration, depending on the course. Further information is provided in relevant course descriptions.

Online, self-faced, asynchronous courses
We strive to ensure that:
- all teachers, regardless of their experience or location, have access to the most current, pertinent professional learning
- we provide flexible learning options that allow educators to engage with professional learning at their own pace and on their own schedule
- our microcredentialled courses are accessible to educators in regional and remote areas, ensuring that all teachers can continue their professional learning journey.
Cutting-edge topics
We provide the latest research and practice advice about hot topics such as:
- generative artificial intelligence (AI)
- generative AI literacies
- learning design and assessment in a generative AI world
- supporting diversity, inclusion and engagement
- the Science of Learning (coming in 2025).
Support for out-of-field teaching
We offer specialised courses to support teachers who are teaching subjects outside their area of subject expertise, ensuring they have the pedagogical knowledge and skills needed to succeed.
These courses are designed to deepen subject-specific knowledge and teaching strategies for teachers in the field.
Support for newly qualified and existing teachers
Our 'How do I ...?' series of 10-hour microcredentials (coming in 2025) seek to support teachers with evidence-based learning on topics such as:
- managing complex behaviours
- self-regulated learning
- establishing a positive classroom climate.
