UNEP appoints Deva to plastic pollution panel

Professor Surya Deva joins UNEP’s expert panel to develop a plastic pollution treaty.

Professor Surya Deva, internationally recognised scholar in business and human rights, has been invited by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as one of 12 experts to advance work on a plastic pollution treaty.

"I am delighted to be invited to support negotiations of an instrument on plastic pollution. This will allow me to combine my past treaty negotiation experiences with expertise on human rights law, corporate responsibility and sustainable development to respond effectively to the worsening global crisis of plastic pollution," says Professor Deva.
