Dr Rita Matulionyte, together with Courtney White (lawyer at Davies, Collison and Cave) have published their new paper on 'Artificial Intelligence: Painting a Bigger Picture on Copyright Ownership'.
The article, that was published in the recent edition of the Australian Intellectual Property Journal, argues that Australian copyright law is not ready to accommodate AI-generated creations. Australian copyright law, in contrast to UK law, leaves AI-generated content unprotected by copyright and in this way decreases the incentive to use AI in generating new and original works.
