Engage with a vibrant and collaborative community
We have extensive partnerships with research institutions, schools, industry partners and government organisations.
Our school engages with a number of partners in order to:
- advance the scope and impact of our undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs
- connect with communities through our collaborations
- give our students practical experience through industry placements, creative projects and historical fieldwork
- share our knowledge and skills to solve practical challenges.
See some our key discipline engagement opportunities below.
We have extensive industry partnerships with:
- music industry peak bodies and rights collection agencies
- music production companies and record labels
- performing arts and entertainment organisations.
Our staff also lead research projects funded by government organisations such as Creative Australia, Australian Research Council and Create NSW.
We provide support for history education with teaching materials, resources for schools, professional development conferences, and experiential learning programs in the Mediterranean, Greece and Egypt.
Macquarie archaeologists and historians help our partners to organise events and fundraise. Our scholars maintain active collaborations with a range of organisations such as:
- The Croatian Studies Foundation
- The Macquarie Ancient History Association
- The Rundle Foundation for Egyptian Archaeology
- The Society for the Study of Early Christianity
- the Sydney Coptic community.
Donations from individual donors make these engagements possible. Make a donation via the 'select an area of my choice' option.
We also partner with festivals such as Sydney Writers’ Festival and the Emerging Writers’ Festival.
We provide creative writing and arts outreach through school programs such as:
- the Student Writers’ Festival
- summer writing programs
- partnerships with cultural institutions like WestWords.
We provide workshops, discussions, and visiting academic opportunities to deepen critical thinking across disciplines.
