Around the world, people gather together to celebrate special events and mark important occasions. A Shared Table, as part of Macquarie University's Diversity Week, is a celebration of unity through diversity, and is aimed to bring together a group of people in one place to physically and symbolically share food. The food we will have on offer is drawn from different traditions and includes that inspired by indigenous Australia (for example fish flavoured with wild limes in paperbark), naan bread baked in a tandoori oven and one of the world's staples – steamed rice.

Involvement in A Shared Table means interacting with people new to you, so through a structured process – and inspired by the world music of Sirocco – you will be circulating to meet other folk around the table.

We would love to have you along – but please register beforehand as places are limited to 100.
