Many of our special collections are available to everyone online. For physical materials special storage and access conditions may be in place to ensure they are preserved for generations to come.
The Library’s Thesis Collection contains print copies of Macquarie University research theses submitted prior to 2018.
The Macquarie University Digital Theses Collection contains digital versions of Macquarie University higher degree theses and includes:
Location: Print theses are located in the Automated Retrieval Collection (ARC).

Access: Print theses are available for in-library use only. Place a request via MultiSearch for access. Digital theses can be accessed via Macquarie University Digital Theses Collection.
The Brunner Collection contains an extensive collection of nineteenth and early twentieth century texts on Egyptology. The collection was formed from the library of eminent Egyptologists Professor Hellmut Brunner and Professor Emma Brunner-Traut in the early 1990s. Since then, it has expanded through purchases from the Rundle Foundation for Egyptian Archaeology.

Access: The Brunner Collection is a restricted access collection and is not available for loan. Eligible users are limited to:
Eligible users must complete the Request access to the Brunner Collection form and receive approval from the Library prior to accessing the collection.
The Curriculum Collection contains a wide variety of classroom support materials and resources for lesson preparation and teaching. These resources are primarily for the use of students enrolled in teaching practicum units.
Location: Library Level 1. Curriculum materials purchased more than five years ago or not used within the last five years are located in the Automated Retrieval Collection (ARC).
Search: Records for all items in the collection can be found in MultiSearch.
Access: Items on Level 1 are available for browsing and borrowing. Older items in the ARC can be requested through MultiSearch.
The Macquarie University Library purchased the Palaeontology Collection in 1994. The core of the collection came from the library of the late Professor Jess Johnson (University of Oregon, Corvallis). It includes:
