New interface launching July 2025 affecting major databases. User access to folders/saved searches impacted; alerts will need to be recreated.

Major research platform EBSCOhost are changing their database interface on 15 July 2025. While these changes should bring a host of improvements, users should be aware that some existing features will be impacted. See below for the full list of affected databases. This change was originally scheduled for February 2025 but has now been adjusted to July.

Impacted features

  • Access to existing custom (nested) folders: these will not be migrated to the new interface however users will have read only access to these folders for a period, after which time users can download a CSV file of this content. See the Managing folder content checklist.
  • Saved searches:  saved searches in MyFolder will sync to the new interface. Those in custom folders will not.
  • Journal alerts & search alerts: will not migrate to the new interface and will need to be recreated.

Interface updates

The new EBSCOhost interface will have a different look and feel, and should help users access information in a more streamlined manner with personalized dashboards, simpler layout, new ways to share and save resources, and improved handling of eBooks.
