Gateway unit
A foundational unit, typically offered at 600 level, designed to provide an introduction to the discipline for students entering a postgraduate program from a non-cognate discipline.

Grade
This is the statement of a student's overall performance in meeting the learning outcomes of a unit of study. At the University it is referred to as a Standardised Numerical Grade (SNG). Examples include High Distinction (HD); Distinction (D); Credit (Cr); Pass (P); Fail (F).
